Founded in 1884, when Los Angeles was a small city of only a few thousand vs. today's 3.8 million.
This was the first cemetery in Los Angeles open to all races and creeds.
In 1887 it owned the second crematory in the United States.
Consisting of 65 acres, it is still in operation under the original direction of the Angelus Funeral Home.
These images were taken in 2003 and 2009.
