Stagville - 15 MAR 2008

Tinky Winky sits on the steps of Historic Stagville slave quarters:
Once it was one of the largest plantations in Antebellum North Carolina (30,000 acres) and had 900 slaves working the landing. After leaving Stagville, we took a scenic road route and found this unusual sight:
I spent 18 years on the farm and never saw a cow with this kind of coloring. TW wanted to know if they make Oreo cookies from their milk. When I got back to the hotel, I did some research and found they are Dutch Belted dairy cows. They were newly introduced into the United States, less than ten years ago. And their nickname is 'Oreo cookie cow'.
