Prison Food - 19 MAR 2008

All week I’ve been eating in the Cafeteria and today I noticed the place mats.
I was wondering if I was eating prison food and thought if they are testing out dishes on the office staff, the prisoners must eat really well. Today’s Managers Special was fried (what else) shrimp and clams with two sides, plus hushpuppys and a large soda, all for $3.50. I asked the Manager, "What is the meaning of ‘Training’ on the place mats?" and she told me the cafeteria was a work skills program where they teach prisoners how to work in the food service industry. (I thought the cafeteria ladies looked a little hard and acted slightly awkward.)
