Gristmill - 2 MAR 2008

Went to The Center for Conscious Living this morning and our parting affirmation was: “Something wonderful will happen to me today.” After wards, I went driving around back country roads, trying to check out things I saw on the map…small grave yards, lakes, parks…nothing impressive and then I saw a mill and pulled over. 

It turned out to be Historic Yates Mill County Park, the last remaining gristmill in Wake County. 

After I took several shots, I talked to another photographer who told me at 2:00 they would be turning on the water wheel. 

Serendipitously finding an operating gristmill on the one day they lift the water gate...that was my something wonderful.
